São Paulo? No, that is not right. "Welcome".. Officially: Tottenham sign Omar Marmoush | Goal.com

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on Thursday. The season-long loan carries an obligation to buy, converting the deal into a permanent transfer next summer.
Under the headline "Welcome, Omar", the London club announced on its official website that the forward will join Roberto De Zerbi's project. It makes him one of Spurs' marquee additions of the summer window.
Marmoush could barely contain his delight. "It's a wonderful feeling to be here. I'm extremely excited to begin my journey with the team and I can't wait to meet the fans," he said.
"Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in England, if not in the world, and the club's project was very appealing to me. I spoke with the head coach and I was very impressed by what he said, and I'm confident that our passion for football will help us achieve success together," he added.
Sporting director Johan Lange framed the signing as a statement of intent. "Omar is a player of great quality, and he has proven his ability to shine at the highest levels. We believe he will be an important element in achieving our goals over the coming years, and we look forward to seeing him make a strong addition to the team," he said.
De Zerbi was just as effusive about the Egyptian's potential. "Omar is exactly the type of player we want at this club. He is an ambitious player, hungry for success, and he possesses exceptional attacking quality, alongside pace, intelligence and danger in front of goal. I believe he is capable of taking our attacking strength to a new level," the head coach explained.
Tottenham's statement charted his rise from the start. He began at Wadi Degla before moving to Wolfsburg in Germany, then dazzled on loan at Stuttgart. His star truly rose at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 37 goals and provided 20 assists in 67 matches.
City came calling in January 2025. Marmoush hit the ground running in the Premier League, most notably firing a hat-trick against Newcastle United and claiming the award for the league's best goal of the season. He helped the side lift the League Cup and the FA Cup before this new chapter at Tottenham.
On the international stage, he has racked up 55 caps for Egypt and scored 11 goals. Three Africa Cup of Nations campaigns and a first World Cup this summer round off a résumé he now carries into one of the Premier League's biggest clubs.
