Several England matches have been postponed due to extreme weather conditions, while Netherlands games were completely canceled on Friday.
Storm Eunice has been projected to wreak total havoc on football across Europe this weekend, including sports betting Tanzania, with matches in many of the plans for the Premier League disrupted in some form.
Europe is currently in the midst of facing one of the worst storms seen in decades, with warnings issued due to gusts of over 120mph being recorded in the worst areas.
This weekend's schedule has been affected, and the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) has made the decision to completely postpone all professional matches on Friday.
The home Championship match for Bournemouth represents 6 of the professional first-team games to be postponed in England thus far. It was canceled after Eunice managed to damage sections of the roof of the Vitality Stadium that were unable to be repaired prior to the kick-off.
Furthermore, the National League match set to occur between Grimsby Town and Southend United was canceled just as storm damage was suffered on behalf of the Shrimpers' Roots Hall Stadium.
A League Two match on Saturday occurring between Barrow and Exeter, ties in the National League between Dover and Halifax, Weymouth and Altrincham, and Dagenham and Yeovil have seen postponements in a similar fashion.
The PLS fixture game in Brighton against Leeds United is projected for cancellation. Across the Premier League, all reporters were advised to refrain from travel to north London to attend the press conference for Antonio Conte ahead of a meeting in Tottenham against Manchester City.
In accordance with data issued by Sun, the Spurs were subsequently forced to go to Manchester with busses instead of planes, while Newcastle and Burnley were required to make extended coach trips down south for games against West Ham and Brighton after cancellations on Friday.
An official statement was released by the KNVB, which confirmed the news of all cancellations for February 18 due to Storm Eunice. This, of course, is to protect the safety of club employees, players, sponsors, and supporters in the stadium, which cannot be guaranteed in a sufficient manner due to the inclement weather.
As things currently stand, the games are scheduled to occur on Saturday, including Willem II Ajax's fixture.
Eunice began on the 16th of February in an amber warning issued for the entirety of the Midlands, Southern England, and Wales. This evolved into a red warning shortly after for parts of South Wales and South West England and quickly extended to London, South East, and East England.
The storm has managed to set a record for the fastest gust of wind ever observed in the territory at speeds of up to 122 mph, specifically at The Needles, Isle of Wight. Furthermore, it is one of the most powerful to impact England's south coast since 1987's Great Storm. Millions have been left without power across key regions, with many homes sustaining significant physical damages.
