Press reports have revealed how long Cristiano Ronaldo will be absent from Al-Nassr at the start of the new 2026-2027 season.
Saudi newspaper "Al-Yaum" claim Ronaldo will miss Al-Nassr's first two games of the campaign, against Al-Fateh and Al-Diriyah.
Al-Nassr face Al-Fateh next Saturday in the opening round of the Roshn League, three days before they meet Al-Diriyah in the round of 32 of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
According to the Saudi newspaper, Ronaldo will sit out both fixtures after holding his wedding celebration with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez today, Saturday.
Ronaldo has not featured for Al-Nassr since Portugal's 2026 World Cup ended on 6 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico, when Spain knocked them out in the round of 16 by a single goal.
Everyone expected him back in Al-Nassr training once the legal grace period expired, 21 days after the World Cup exit. It never happened. He did not even join the overseas camp that wrapped up last Wednesday.
Back in Riyadh, Ronaldo extended his absence still further. He has missed every session across the three cities that hosted the camp, whether in the Saudi capital, Abha or Lisbon, over the course of 32 days.
Ronaldo and Al-Nassr are chasing back-to-back Saudi League titles after ending a seven-year drought last season. They also want to be crowned champions of the AFC Champions League Elite for the first time in their history.
