One of the most highly skilled and talented stars in world football that we have seen over the last decade is of course the Brazilian winger, Neymar JR. Neymar appears to be unsatisfied with his current team and performances and feels it may be time to move on for a different challenge. As Neymar is 30 and approaching what could be the final half-decade of his career, it would seem his next transfer move would be crucial and has to be the right call if he wants to add more trophies to his portfolio. With Neymar seemingly running out of time, he has a big call to make. As well as that, there are a lot of clubs who have shortlisted him and would love to have him as their star man next season.
To see who is in pole position to sign Neymar as well as other teams that could be in contention, head over to boylesports.com who have some of the best football betting odds and bonuses.
Neymar at Barcelona
He took a huge gamble back in 2017 when he decided to split ways with European football giants, Barcelona, and join Paris St Germain, a team without real history but an endless pot of money.
Neymar won a lot at Barcelona, including 2 of the biggest prizes in world football, the UEFA Champions League, and also the Spanish La Liga. He was part of arguably one of the best squads our sport has ever seen, being part of a dominating attacking trio that consisted of Neymar on the left, Suarez through the middle, and Messi on the right.
It appeared that despite all of this success, it was rumored Neymar didn’t like not being the biggest name at the club. Of course, there was no way that people were going to put Neymar ahead of Messi when it comes to ability, which is something Neymar could have been annoyed with, leading to his departure in 2017 to PSG, where he felt he could be the biggest name at the club.
Neymar at PSG
Neymar signing for PSG was huge. It was one of the first transfers that really made us all think that this club is serious about dominating the sport on a global scale. PSG is a club with not much history, certainly a step down from Barcelona, but this didn’t bother Neymar as he just wanted to be the main man.
Despite contributing to winning many French league titles, it appears that his career at the club has not been as successful as he would have hoped, as they’re still yet to win the Champions League, one of the main reasons why they are spending such huge amounts of money on players.
On top of this, Neymar seemed to be pushed aside as a younger, possibly more talented player with a lot more potential came into the ranks. As well as this, he was of French nationality, which only made the fans and club love him more. Of course, we are talking about Kylian Mbappe. Kylian Mbappe is now the most prestigious man in football, after signing his new contract with the club giving him a whole range of bonuses, job titles, and responsibilities. Where Now For Neymar?
Now that Neymar seems to be considering the possibility of playing soccer elsewhere, here are some of the clubs ready to clinch the signing of the not yet finished Brazilian forward.
Chelsea seems to be the team leading the race at this current stage. There is still a lot of work and paperwork to be finalized before any sort of move can be agreed but Chelsea is the name on the lips of a lot of sporting journalists monitoring this situation. The premier league is always a tempting destination for any soccer player as it is known as the best league in the world. Especially with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Erling Haaland, Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, and many more big names competing in it, this would only persuade Neymar more.
Manchester United has also been named as potential candidates for this deal. But yet to make their first signing of the summer window, the chances are increasingly unlikely. As well as this, Neymar would favor a team competing in the Champions League next season.
